M&G Appoint aspireDM as Development Manager to Repurpose King Edward House
M&G Real Estate, one of the UK’s largest property investors, has appointed aspireDM as development manager to progress major redevelopment plans for King Edward House, its office and retail holding on New Street in Central Birmingham.
Proposals are being developed to repurpose the office floors of the building to create a modern hotel, moments from Birmingham’s wealth of city centre attractions including the Bullring and Grand Central retail complex as well as New Street station.
“We see real opportunity in repurposing this building to react to an undersupply of hotel accommodation in the city centre and to help support a thriving city centre economy. With aspireDM now on board, we are developing proposals that we think will deliver a striking new hotel for Birmingham. We look forward to sharing more details of our proposals in due course.” Kannika Mall, Associate Director at M&G Real Estate
Peter Hopson, Director of aspireDM added “We are delighted to have been appointed by M&G Real Estate as their development manager to repurpose King Edward House. The scheme that we are furthering will see the delivery of a great new hotel offer on New Street minutes from the station in Birmingham’s vibrant City Centre”
aspireDM are working as development manager with key clients on a range of high profile projects including the creation of hundreds of apartments, office and retail space in Nine Elms and Oxford Street for Transport for London, delivering a new John Lewis store in Cheltenham and planning consent for over 5000 homes in Bedfordshire..
