ABP is creating London’s third financial and business district. The Royal Albert Dock project will be unique, it will be the headquarters of Chinese and other Asian companies enabling them to reach new markets across Europe.
The development at London’s Royal Albert Dock comprises 4.7m sq ft, 70% of which is office accommodation, 20% residential and the remainder retail/leisure and car parks. The first phase of c600,000 sq ft of office, leisure and retail is due to commence in late 2015. The £1.7 billion investment will result in more than 20,000 jobs, and generate £6 billion to the London economy.
aspireDM leads an exemplar team on the regeneration of the 28 acre Royal Albert Dock on behalf of Chinese developer ABP London. We are delighted to provide a dedicated management team on this enterprise zone led scheme. East London is changing and aspireDM are at the forefront of this change.
The importance of an enterprise zone led regeneration project of this scale cannot be overstressed; the social impact that successful delivery will have on the borough of Newham and the East End of London as a whole will be considerable. Having a leadership structure in place which provides clear and consistent direction is critical to this success and the Aspire team bring this quality to the development; we are at the heart of ABP investment.
The development expects to obtain the initial Planning Consent by end of 2nd Quarter 2015 and work will commence on infrastructure and utilities by the end of the same year. Phase 1 is currently on programme for delivery by 2018.
