Prior to founding aspireDM in 2007, Peter had gained over 20 years of experience in real estate planning and development working directly for major blue-chip developers Lendlease, Friends Provident/Foreign & Colonial and London Capital Holdings.
Peter is a business leader having worked at board level of listed companies and has a proven track record of delivery having previously fulfilled the roles as Director of Lend Lease Projects Limited and main board Director of BovisLend Lease Limited.
As Managing Director, Peter provides the in-house lead to team members and access to considerable planning, asset delivery and development experience to his peers across the full cycle of real estate development. He has led the formulation of strategic relationships with the Mayor's Greater London Authority, Transport for London, The Jockey Club, BlackRock, Cordea Savills, Actis Capital and Asian Business Ports together with various London Boroughs and County Councils. As a chartered, surveyor Peter also acts as an expert witness in both disciplines of Development and Project Management.
Mark has over 25 years' experience within the property industry holding principal roles at Lendlease, Burford Group Plc and Trocadero Plc. Mark has a unique and varied skillset and has experience across all areas of property. This includes experience in the delivery of projects of scale, value and complexity, from inception through to completion, covering political lobbying, masterplanning, planning, design, construction delivery and refurbishment together with the acquisition and disposal of assets.
Prior to joining aspireDM, Mark was previously Development Director at Lend Lease. It was here that Mark led, amongst other things, the re-masterplanning of Elephant and Castle in collaboration with Southwark Council, GLA and TfL and a Main Board Director of Trocadero Plc where he was responsible for the planning and £25million refurbishment of the London Trocadero Centre.
In addition, Mark has held the position of Director at Burford Group, overseeing a mixed portfolio of circa £280 million.
Since joining aspireDM in 2012, Mark has had a number of high profile clients including Transport for London Greater London Authority, the Jockey Club and Asian Business Port.
Shaunna is an Assistant Development Manager from a finance and accounting background. She has a foundational education in property development and has recently undertaken a Prince2 project management course.
She has excellent organisational and analytical skills and is able to drive projects forward, whilst maintaining clear communication with client and consulting teams and ensuring deadlines are met.
Michael Verona joined aspireDM in January 2019 as a Development Manager.
Prior to this, Michael has obtained 4 and a half years’ experience working within the property industry, having previously worked for JLL. Michael undertook the graduate scheme and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in May 2017. During this time, he benefited from departmental rotations in Rating, Retail Valuation, Corporate Accounts and City Investment before joining the Development Consultancy department.
Following qualification, Michael undertook a secondment to the Ministry of Justice where he played a pivotal role in the delivery of the Court Estates Reform Programme. This role focused on de-risking surplus real estate assets for open market disposal in order to maximise sale proceeds, working with a variety of planning, legal, environmental and operational complexities.
Michael has also worked for a variety of private and public sector clients providing both consultancy and agency advice on development assets. He has experience in working with prospective schemes across asset classes, including residential, retail, office and industrial.
Michael has a degree in Urban and Regional Planning (MSc.) from the London School of Economics specialising in urban policy and regeneration.
Chris has over 15 years' experience working within the property industry and has worked on several mixed-use, town centre schemes as developer, client representative and development manager. His experience ranges from feasibility stage through to detailed planning consent and then taking the schemes through procurement and into detailed design and construction.
Chris has also played key development management roles on the delivery of residential schemes, ranging from super prime to care home facilities.
Chris became Director of aspireDM in 2008, after joining from Lendlease and has worked on a number of large scale projects including development management of a large strategic land property portfolio for Savills Investment Management and the redevelopment of the Commonwealth Institute, Hollandgreen on behalf of Chelsfield, before repositioning the town centre asset and delivery of a new store for John Lewis Partnership on behalf of BlackRock.
With a background in Architecture, Chris began his career at Benoy Architects, working on such high-profile schemes as Bull Ring (Birmingham) and Touchwood (Solihull). Chris then made the move to Westfield and later Lend Lease as a Senior Development Manager, working on large mixed-use town centres schemes.
Anjali is a versatile and highly competent all-rounde with excellent team leadership and project running skills. With a rich background of hands-on experience in high profile mixed-use schemes, Anjali benefits from real experience of the full development cycle.
As a Development Project Manager, Anjali has taken schemes from feasibility through design development and planning application/consent to implementation on site.
A Chartered Member of the RIBA and Associate Member of the APM, Anjali has specialist experience in the delivery of mixed-use city centre projects with the focus on retail, residential and leisure. Anjali has also delivered projects in award winning Estate Regeneration, Assisted Living in the community, Health, and Education.
Having joined Aspire in 2014, Anjali was lead development project manager on the delivery and fit-out of luxury high-end apartments at the Commonwealth Institute site (Hollandgreen) on behalf of Chelsfield, with particular focus on the delivery of a bespoke luxury penthouse. Currently focused on the optimised design for planning a grade A office scheme on King William Street, City of London and a new residential scheme in Elmbridge.
Past clients include Lendlease, Westfield, Network Housing, Hammersmith and Fulham Council, and Coopers Academy.
Anjali flourishes in client-facing roles, drawing on her excellent interpersonal and communication skills and flexible approach.
Stuart has over 27 years experience in real estate development, design, delivery and commercial disciplines through career roles with established industry leaders Lend Lease, Kier Group, Ewbank Preece and Conder.
Stuart has extensive experience in both contracting and consulting companies. In his 8 years of employment at Lend Lease Europe, Stuart took a strategic and operational business lead in the acquisition, development and delivery of major UK and European missed-use asset enhancement and asset creation projects including Battersea Power Station, Shell HQ Redevelopment and Bluewater Phase 2.
As a non-executive Director of aspireDM, Stuart has undertaken advisory roles in UK and European Strategic Land Funds. He has also held the CEO role in establishing a new joint venture development business in Mauritius and is currently leading the largest retail-led mixed use development in East Africa on behalf of Actis in Nairobi, Kenya (Garden City).
Ian is a strategic land acquisition, property development & regeneration professional with more than 30 years' experience and a strong track record of successful delivery in complex mixed-use redevelopment and major infrastructure projects.
A Chartered Surveyor, prior to joining aspireCP in 2018 Ian spent seven years at Crossrail. As Land & Property Director he delivered one of the most complex compulsory purchase programmes ever undertaken in the UK and put in place the design, planning and commercial contracts for 3.5m sq.ft of Over-Site Development as well as overseeing the public realm improvements outside every Crossrail station in London.
Before Crossrail Ian headed Network Rail's Property Development team, enabling the redevelopment of Cannon Street, Birmingham New Street and London Bridge stations by capturing value from real estate opportunities. Prior to this Ian held a variety of client roles with responsibility for property led regeneration schemes and he maintains a keen interest in delivering affordable housing, acting as a Non-Executive Director at Moat Housing Ltd.
Since joining Aspire Ian has been working on the regeneration of Morden Town Centre for TfL and London Borough of Merton and he is also working with Crossrail International to advise Sydney Metro on integrated property development opportunities.
Adrian led the compulsory purchase team in Transport for London (TfL) for 30 years. He was responsible for major infrastructure projects with a property acquisition budget of over £1.1billion on projects such as Crossrail 1 (Elizabeth line); Jubilee line extension; Croydon Tramlink and various highway schemes on the TfL road network such as the Silvertown Tunnel crossing and M11 link road.
Adrian trained and developed an in house capability with an unrivalled track record in managing property risk on major projects. The property compensation budgets all these major projects were settled on averaged within 1% of budget. In addition, he was responsible for some of the leading successful compulsory purchase cases such as Bishopsgate Space Management, PLA, Urban Edge, Great Portland Estate and Spirerose in the House of Lords.
Since 2012 he has been a committee member of the Compulsory Purchase Association and has led the law reform group for 2 years. He is a regular speaker on the compulsory purchase circuit.
Stephen has over 35 years' experience in the property industry, working on large scale, high profile and complex projects in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Australia.
As a Chartered Structural Engineer, Stephen spent the early part of his career with Arup, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Hyder where he became Head of the UK Building Structures Group. He has worked on many high profile projects including Exchange House Broadgate, Stansted Airport Terminal, Stratford Jubilee Line Station, The Atlantico Pavilion for the Lisbon Expo, Vila Olympica Barcelona and Federation Square Melbourne.
Stephen joined aspireDM in September 2013 and holds the post of Chief Operating Officer. Stephen has also had a significant involvement in the sustainable urban extension at Houghton Regis (Bedfordshire) on behalf of Lands Improvement Holdings and the planned delivery of over 4.5 million sq ft of employment space to create a new business district at the Royal Albert Dock on behalf of Asian Business Port.
Stephen is an Academician of the Academy of Urbanism and is a non-executive Director of Locate in Kent.
Adelle is a Chartered Surveyor with over 28 years' experience within the property. She has an extensive knowledge of the development industry and has been involved in a number of mixed-use schemes in London and across the UK from inception to completion.
Having worked for Miller Developments, Grosvenor Square Properties and The Crown Estate, Adelle has led numerous high-profile projects from initial feasibility, through planning and to delivery, coordinating and managing consultant, agency and construction teams.
Adelle began working as a consultant to aspireDM in 2012 and has recently acted as Development Manager to TfL on the highly complex residential scheme above the proposed new underground station at Nine Elms (Vauxhall). She oversaw the coordination and management of the masterplanning team on the 7 million sq ft mixed use project at Silvertown Quays (East London), on behalf of Chelsfield and First Base and is currently focused on bringing forward the over-station development at Liverpool Street and Farringdon upon delivery of the new Elizabeth Line (Crossrail).
Duncan has over 25 years of wide ranging experience within the property industry having previously worked for Richard Ellis in office agency and development before moving to Burford Group Plc, where he led the purchase and disposal of hundreds of millions of pounds worth of assets across the UK.
Duncan specialises in providing development advice to organisations in both the public and private sectors on existing property assets, the acquisition of new facilities which better meet the operational needs of the businesses and negotiating joint venture development agreements.
Duncan joined aspireDM in 2012 and has successfully overseen the management of developments for a number of key clients including Merton College Oxford, The Jockey Club, Transport for London, Government Property Unit, Asian Business Port, Harrow Council and The Sheppard Trust Almshouse Charity.
As a Director of Burford Group he played an important role in the company's £1bn management buyout funded by Lehman Brothers and the purchase of Green Properties £400m UK portfolio.
In recent years, Duncan has purchased and asset managed a number of strategic assets on behalf of clients, including portfolios of City office and regional office buildings along with a large parcel of strategic land close to Milton Keynes.
John is a Chartered Accountant specialising in real estate development, financing and analysis. Since joining aspireDM in 2011, John has provided highly sophisticated commercial modelling analysis on several projects, including The Royal Docks and Asian Business Port, a portfolio of acquisitions, regeneration schemes and joint venture arrangements.
Since leaving Price Waterhouse Coopers in 1986 John has held a succession of Finance positions in property companies including: Berisford Properties, Blue Circle Properties, Land Securities Developments and The Portman Estate.
In 2004, John joined Ernst & Young as a Real Estate Advisory Director advising on development projects for a mix of UK central and local government, UK private sector and Middle Eastern clients.
In 2010, John joined the Government Property Unit as a senior civil servant within the Shareholder Executive, where his role as CFO was to co-ordinate the rationalisation of the civil estate from 11 to 8 million m2 over 5 years.
Robert has over 30 years’ experience in all stages of real estate development leading negotiations for acquisition, project formulation and financial structuring, concept development and project appraisals, design development and construction stage project direction and implementation to successful delivery.
Prior to coming to the UK and after obtaining his MSc. (Pl) from the University of Toronto Robert was a senior planner for the City of Toronto and subsequently worked as a lead consultant on major mixed use commercial development projects in downtown Toronto and New York City. In the late 1980s Robert came to the UK with Olympia & York to embark on the development of the first phase of Canary Wharf.
Robert specialises in high quality urban regeneration advising public and private sector clients in the areas of development leadership, planning, procurement and project delivery. He has undertaken senior management roles on a number of the UK’s most significant developments including most recently Wood Wharf, Canary Wharf, Greenwich Peninsula, Liverpool Waterfront and Manchester City Centre, working with aspireDM since 2011.
David is a Chartered Surveyor with over 30 years' experience in the real estate development industry, ranging from development director at SEGRO Plc and Inhabit Residential Ltd to senior advisory roles at Canal & River Trust, Housing Projects Ltd, Metir Property Holdings.
David has the requisite experience to manage the multi-faceted challenges of complex development projects. He has led numerous large-scale, mixed-use developments from initial feasibility, through planning and to delivery, including securing project finance and investment funding.
Developments David has led include: the delivery of a 35-storey build-to-rent residential scheme in Manchester City Centre, the mixed-use re-development of the former Clyde Chemicals Site in Leeds City Centre (GDV £280) and acquisition and development of the 30-acre former Nestle Factory site in West Hayes to create a thriving West London neighbourhood.
Simon managed a team of surveyors on numerous projects at Transport for London for over 27 years. He was responsible for the delivery of land and property to the client teams on projects such as Jubilee Line Extension, East London Line Extension, Crossrail, Silvertown Tunnel and Rotherhithe to Canary Wharf Bridge.
Following aspireDM’s appointment by the GLA to manage the Olympic land acquisition programme in 2009, Simon took over management control in January 2013. He continued to deliver significant financial savings for the client demonstrating his breadth of knowledge in the compulsory purchase field guiding 36 Olympic cases through the Upper Tribunal process.
Simon has managed many compulsory purchase cases through the litigation process including leadership of the teams required to resource full hearings at the Lands Chamber in the Upper Tribunal. The total number of cases managed by Simon over the past fifteen years is in excess of fifty. Simon is able to offer clear direction and case management skills which translate in to tight budget control on the client property side.
Simon was responsible for a number of major infrastructure projects with property acquisition budgets in excess of £400M and related compensation estimates. He has in-depth understanding of the land acquisition options, the compensation code, its application in numerous scenarios and how this affects the property estimates and budgets throughout the life of a project, including the consenting and implementation stages.
