Former TfL Head forms new venture with aspireDM

Today, Aspire Development Management Ltd (aspireDM) is delighted to launch a new venture with Adrian Maher – Aspire Compulsory Purchase Ltd (aspireCP), to complement its property development management core services. aspireCP assists public authorities and developers with land acquisition and the complex compulsory purchase process for regeneration and infrastructure projects.

Adrian Maher, a leading advocate for the CPO discipline, has left the role of Head of Operational Property at Transport for London where he led the country’s largest in-house CPO team. Adrian heads up the new sector specialism, aspireCP, bringing with him 30 years’ experience working on large scale infrastructure and regeneration projects such as Crossrail 1.

Commenting on the new venture, aspireCP Managing Director, Adrian Maher says:

For 30 years at Transport for London I have had one of the most interesting compulsory purchase roles in the UK, delivering property solutions for major infrastructure schemes covering a £4 billion property budget which exposed me to nearly every challenge there is.

The resurgence in major infrastructure projects where compulsory purchase is key to delivery has created an industry requirement for expert CP consultancy. The formation of Aspire Compulsory Purchase is a really exciting opportunity for me to help other acquiring authorities in managing their compulsory purchase risk alongside a development management team with a proven track record.

Peter Hopson, Managing Director of Aspire Development Management, says of aspireCP’s formation:

“aspireDM has worked with Adrian since 2012 when we handed over the leadership of the largest CPO achieved in Europe for the London Olympics,  and subsequently furthered the successful delivery of the Northern Line Extension CPO and land acquisition strategy for the Garden Bridge for client TfL. We now thoroughly look forward to applying our combined skills and breadth of land acquisition and CPO capability to that of our development management core.”
